Case study - phase 2
Contaminated land intrusive investigation
WF Electrical needed to investigate potential sources of contamination at their site in Dagenham prior to excavating the factory floor. Environmental Management Consultants staff investigated the potential contamination at the site using nationally recognised methods. Soil samples were taken from beneath the site and analysed for a wide range of contaminants, and those specifically expected from the Phase 1 Desk Study. The Phase 2 report presented the findings of the chemical analysis, characterised the threat posed by the contaminants found, and recommended remediation options for the contaminants of concern.
The intrusive investigation indicated that, for the purposes of WF Electrical's plans, no risk was presented to human health or the environment and therefore nor remediation was necessary.
